MEET THE OWNERS

WHY TRUST NORTHEAST RUST PROOFING?

Meet Joshua Klein and Carolyn McGonagle — Joshua provides decades of hands-on repair, fabrication, welding, and rust prevention expertise. Carolyn oversees the business operations that make it all possible, managing scheduling, bookkeeping, customer communication, and the countless details that keep Northeast Rust Proofing operating efficiently. Together, they have built a company where quality workmanship is matched by outstanding organization and customer care.

My passion for repairing and building vehicles began long before Northeast Rust Proofing was founded.

I grew up on a farm where broken equipment, dirt bikes, ATVs, and trucks weren't replaced — they were repaired. My father was one of the most hands-on, resourceful people I've ever known. He could fix just about anything, and I'm incredibly grateful for the knowledge, work ethic, and attention to detail he passed on to me.

That passion led me to attend trade school for Automotive Technology, where I built the technical foundation that would shape my career.

After graduation, I worked as an automotive service technician in dealership service departments, gaining valuable experience diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of vehicles. Looking to expand my fabrication and welding skills, I joined the Boilermakers Union Local 237, where I fabricated and welded high-pressure steam tubing for industrial power generation. That experience demanded precision, craftsmanship, and an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality.

In 2001, I founded Altered Image Customs, where I spent more than two decades building custom vehicles, fabricating chassis and suspension systems, performing structural repairs, and restoring everything from classic cars to lifted trucks. Every project reinforced the importance of quality workmanship and doing the job right the first time.

Over the years, I noticed a recurring problem. Many otherwise reliable vehicles weren't reaching the end of their mechanical life — they were being retired because rust had destroyed their frames and structural components. Seeing so many repairable vehicles lost to corrosion inspired me to dedicate my career to rust prevention and structural restoration.

That vision became Northeast Rust Proofing.

Today, we combine decades of automotive repair, fabrication, welding, and structural restoration experience with professional-grade products and proven application methods to help customers protect one of their biggest investments. Whether we're applying rust protection to a brand-new truck, repairing structural corrosion, or restoring a heavily rusted chassis, our goal is always the same: provide honest recommendations, exceptional workmanship, and long-term protection you can trust.

At Northeast Rust Proofing, we don't just spray undercoating — we understand how vehicles are built, how they fail, and most importantly, how to help them last for years to come.
